YOU CAN GO - MARSEILLE PRESIDENT BLAST

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Olympique Marseille President, Jean-Claude Dassier has given up on the club’s intention to keep their prized Nigerian asset, Taye Taiwo beyond the 2010/11 season and stated that the club is willing to sell the Super Eagles star at a good prize.

Taiwo last week revealed to the Nigerian media that he is unlikely to continue playing for the French Lique 1 champions, and the club top hierarchy now seem unperturbed by whatever decision the sought-after left back takes concerning his future.

“If Taiwo considers that he has the level, the age and the experience to attempt his luck elsewhere, in a big European club (I wish him well) but I hope he will not regret his action. I cannot force him to extend his contract, I wish him luck.

“We already have some names in mind (as Taye’ replacement). If a buyer makes the first move for Taiwo before the summer, we shall consider if the offer is beneficial to OM,” Dassier emphasized.

Some likely replacements for the former Lobi Stars and Gabros International stocky defender are already being speculated in the media.
