Former Nigeria youth international Yakubu Alfa has moved on loan to AEK Lanarca of Cyprus from Metalurh Donetsk of Ukraine.
The 20-year-old one-time Monaco target has previously posted short stints in Belgium, Sweden and Greece.The former Niger Tornadoes defensive midfield star helped Nigeria win the 2007 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in South Korea and also featured at the 2009 Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.
Lanarca are managed by Jordi Cruyff, the son of the legendary Johann Cruyff.Several Nigerians like George Datoru and Azubuike Oliseh have already featured for the team who were promoted to the Cypriot top flight last season.
